Total fireworks ban extends to 4th of July

Posted: Monday, June 27, 2011 10:54 pm | Updated: 4:17 pm, Wed Jul 6, 2011.

Kendall County Commissioners agreed Monday with an action taken by Kendall County Judge Gaylan Schroeder last week declaring a local state of disaster, prohibiting the use of combustible materials including all fireworks, banning the sale of all fireworks throughout the county and prohibiting all outdoor burning. The declaration is the result of the imminent threat of wildfire due to continuing drought conditions and an abundance of dead and dry grass, brush and other vegetation that fuels fire. The order is effective immediately.

Instead of Fireworks the Knights of Columbus will show Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs on Boerne's Main Plaza at Dark (approx 9:15pm) and will have kids games from 7 -8:45, and patriotic events from 8:45 to 9:15. This will all be on July 4th.
