School choice in a big state

I have read with interest the columns and articles concerning private school vouchers. One observation about the issue is surprising to me, especially with our conservative Republican legislature.
Texas is a big state, and school choice here includes Hebrew, Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim and liberal progressive Christian educational programs. Quite an impressive example of DEI initiatives funded with public money.
