Judith Leidl Heiligmann

Dec. 6, 1933 April 30, 2025

“I’m hanging in there, honey,” is how Judith Constance Leidl Heiligmann would respond to anyone when asked how she was feeling. Judy died on April 30, 2025, at 91 years old.

Judy, a life-long resident of Boerne, Texas, was born Dec. 6, 1933, in Boerne. Her parents were Johnny and Irene K. Leidl.

Judy married Melvin A. Heiligmann on May 25, 1974. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last year, surrounded by friends and family in their home. They enjoyed a wonderful life together on their ranch in Bergheim, Texas.

Judy has two daughters, Jennifer (Dan) Greene and Jeanine (Michael) Schuchardt; one grandson, Evin (Blanche) Schuchardt; and three great-grandsons, Jonah, Gideon and Asher.

Judy has one surviving sister, Janet (Rankin) D’Spain and two deceased sisters, Julia (LeMoine) Wood and Joan (Charles) Wright. She has many surviving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Judy loved to watch sports on TV, especially baseball, football and basketball. She also loved watching the hummingbirds and all of the livestock from her favorite chair in her home.

She played about a million games of solitaire in her lifetime. While she was working, she is remembered by many as one of the drive-thru tellers at Boerne State Bank.

A special thank you to many people who helped Judy with her illnesses throughout her long nursing home stay, including Alamo Hospice, Riverview Nursing Home and Cibolo Creek Nursing Home.

A visitation is scheduled for 9-10 a.m. on May 5, 2025, in the St. John Lutheran Church Historic Chapel, 315 E. Rosewood Ave. in Boerne followed by the funeral service at 10 a.m. Interment will be at the Boerne Cemetery following the funeral service. The Rev. Rob Weber will be officiating.
