AUSTIN - Liberty Hill broke a 0-0 tie with the only run of the game that came in the bottom of the ninth inning against Boerne Champion Thursday night in Game 1 of their best-of-three series.
The Panthers had the bases loaded with one out against the Chargers in the bottom of the ninth and a grounder against a pulled-in Charger infield allowed the runner from third to score for the walk-off win after the throw home didn't make it in time to give the Panthers the 1-0 win.
Game 2 is Friday at Northeast Sports Park in San Antonio, 1 p.m. Champion has to win to force Game 3 Saturday in Seguin, 3 p.m.
