Plenty of protesters were from Boerne
Editor, I read in your article (‘No Kings’ rally in Boerne exceeds expectations,” June 18) that the opinion of one of the few MAGA counter protestors was that the No Kings protest attendees were not from Boerne.
I don’t have any way of knowing what percentage were from Kendall County and doubt the MAGA person had any inside information or way of making this determination. Printing this person’s accusation, which they wish and hope is true, does not make it true, but it does give validity to the statement.
I live off Business 87 near the TxDOT barns. My friend who attended with me lives near Cascade Caverns and Interstate 10. I saw many attendees that I know who are from Boerne.
I met several others at the event who were also from Boerne. There were some people from Comal County and a few from San Antonio that I talked to. Many attendees were active in the Kendall County Democratic Party.
The Trump counter-protestor quoted in the Boerne Star article may not have recognized any of “these people” peacefully and happily exercising our free speech rights across the street.
I’ve lived in Boerne since 1997. I eat out, shop and volunteer here, and I didn’t recognize any of the counterprotestors either.

Boerne turned out for protest
Editor, I would like to say thank you to all my fellow residents of Boerne who showed up last Saturday at the “No Kings” protest.
I knew most of the people there and I guarantee they were not paid and not bussed into Boerne. I am very proud of my friends and neighbors for showing up and making their beliefs known.

Boerne couple attends rally
Editor, Just letting you know that Boerne people were there at the “No Kings” rally — and there in droves.
Of course other Hill Country people came; but lest anyone forget, Kerrville had their own.
You know who couldn’t possibly know who was there? The lady with the Trump sign who stood across the street.
I only know on the City Hall side of the street, the crowd was passionate, respectful and fed up with those supporting authoritarianism, as you heard the rallying cry, “No Kings” and “This is what democracy looks like!”
“No Kings” was a national movement that day. Boerne folks, and other Americans who care about the values that truly have made America great, showed up everywhere.
The protests are protection for democracy, and we were there.
