NEW BRAUNFELS — Boerne’s Scott Kramer was re-elected to a position on the GVTC Communications board of directors at the firm’s annual meeting, held June 25 in the newly named Charles J. Knibbe Auditorium in New Braunfels.
The auditorium’s dedication honors Knibbe’s 30-year tenure as chairman of the GVTC board of directors, a leader whose legacy of growth and community have a lasting impact on the company.
Kramer was one of five incumbents re-elected to their seats, his being the Division III, position 4 post.
Retired after a career in semiconductor manufacturing at IBM, Lam Research, SEMATECH and Mattson Technologies, Kramer has served as chairman of the Republican Party of Kendall County and as an election judge.
He has also served on the Boerne Independent School District’s Long Range Steering Committee and Budget Strategy Advisory Committee.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Missouri and a master’s degree from the University of Utah. Kramer is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, where his squadron developed and tested the first Tomahawk cruise missiles.
Other board members re-elected to their respective seats are Chad Knibbe, District II, Position 1; Kevin Owens, District III, Position 3: Susan Bogle, District IV, Position 1; and Alan Buxkemper, District IV, Position 2.
According to a company news statement, the company announced a continued distribution of capital credits totaling $8.5 million, credits automatically applied to the June bills of active members ahead of the annual meeting.
Over the past 12 months, the release stated, GVTC returned more than $15.4 million to members through its first-of-its-kind Member Dividend Program.
Building on this momentum, GVTC launched its Customer Dividend Program in early 2025, an initiative offering 20% monthly dividends to eligible, loyal customers. In just six months, this new program has already returned $2 million.
Together, these initiatives are projected to return a total value of $25.9 million to members and customers by 2025, marking a record-breaking demonstration of GVTC’s dedication to putting people first.
The dedication of the Charles J. Knibbe Auditorium and the rollout of the Customer Dividend Program mark a defining moment in the cooperative’s history, the statement added.
“GVTC is proud of the active participation of its employees and customers, whose dedication sets the cooperative apart in the telecommunications industry,” it stated. “With a mission rooted in community prosperity and technological excellence, GVTC continues to thrive through the commitment of its board of directors, leadership team, and employees.”
