The Bookworm: Book Festival returns to library grounds in October

Mark your calendars and plan to join us for the 2025 Boerne Book Festival on Saturday, Oct. 4. Our big news — this year’s festival will take place on the Patrick Heath Library grounds.

The featured speakers and panel discussions will be held inside the community room and festival tents will be set up on the library grounds, behind the library.

This year we are pleased to welcome bestselling author Bryan Burrough with his latest book, “The Gunfighters: How Texas Made the West Wild.” Burrough is from Temple and now calls the Austin area home.

Local historian and art enthusiast Paul Barwick will interview the author at the festival. This program will be sponsored by the Old Jail Museum.

Stephen Harrigan will be featured at the festival once again with his latest books, “An Anchor in the Sea of Time” from UT Press, and “Sorrowful Mysteries” from Knopf Publishing. Kerrville author Cindy Bonner will interview Harrigan about his books.

Favorite vendors such as Texas Tech University Press, Trinity University Press and UT Press return to the festival this year, as well as several writing and literary organizations.

The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, The Writers’ League of Texas, South Texas Authors of Romance, and the San Antonio Sci-Fi and Fantasy Authors will all be on hand.

Thanks so much to our sponsors that support us each year including Kay and Bryden Moon, Susan and Skipper Nelson, The Friends of the Boerne Public Library, The Boerne Public Library Foundation, Frost Bank and H-E-B.
