The first time MaryLee Pratt — known to her friends as “Bitsy” — understood art as a way to express ideas and narratives, was in front of the Mexican muralists in Mexico City.
That early exposure opened her eyes to other artists: Fernando Botero and John Singer Sargeant, and recently Andy Evansen, Mary Whyte and Edward Tucker, most of whom are watercolorists.
During her 45-year career as a physical therapist, researcher and educator, community art classes nourished her interest in art.
She’s now been an avid painter for more than 30 years, drawing and painting in watercolors. She now enjoys retirement and painting, friends and lazy days with her husband. Pratt wants to thank her art community, teachers, supporters and collectors.
Pratt’s artwork is now on display in Boerne banks along Main Street, and at The Center at Kronkosky during the month of September.
