COMFORT — Over two days, the Comfort ISD board of trustees and superintendent visited every school building in the district to take a closer look at its facilities.

The goal of the walkthrough, according to district officials, was simple but important: “Identify what is working well and what needs attention so that our students and staff have the very best learning environment possible.”

In touring classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, gyms and common areas, trustees and district leaders had the opportunity to talk with teachers, staff and administrators about the daily needs of each campus. Those conversations, combined with onsite observations, helped create a list of facility needs that will be used to guide future steps for the district.

The focus, according to a CISD press release, will turn to prioritizing those needs and taking action whether that means repairing, upgrading or replacing equipment. Beyond immediate improvements, the district is looking ahead to future projects that will enhance the learning experience and create positive, welcoming spaces for students across Comfort ISD.

This walkthrough was another way Comfort ISD is working to ensure schools remain safe, supportive and ready to help students shine, officials said.
