Letters To The Editor

Kendall refutes political rhetoric

Editor,

This is in response to a ‘Letter to the Editor’ earlier this summer by Richard Caldwell, ironically using the “free press” to spread politically left rhetoric.

The political left uses broad terms in its narrative, to try to influence the low-information voter. His letter was just that, trying to turn Kendall County and Texas blue politically.

For example, Mr. Caldwell referred to “banning books.” Yes, at least 80% (sadly, it is not 100%) of the voters in Kendall County will say yes, banning disgusting, sexually-worded inappropriate books for young elementary and middle school students is a must. Would Caldwell disagree?

Next, he mentions “attack free press.” Again, 80% of Kendall County voters would say there is no attack on the “free press.” However, there is righteousness criticizing of the national establishment media for their continued spread of propaganda from political left. Sounds like the game of politics? Possible agreement with Caldwell?

Next mentioned was “attack education” — 80% say improve education, including keeping radical un-American political harassment off higher education campuses as a good thing, especially looking at stats that reflect badly on the job being done in public education. Improving education; any agreement from Caldwell?

“Attack political opponents and celebrities,” as though they are special in that they can attack Trump but he can’t respond in kind, was next. Do as I say not as I do? Will this ring a bell for Caldwell?

Lastly he threw in “attack immigrants,” once again 80% agree that illegal immigrants that are criminals should be deported, ASAP. Agree to disagree with this perspective, I bet definitely for Caldwell.

Where did I get the 80% reference, rounded conservative voting stats over the last couple of decades for Kendall County.
