The UIL team tennis playoffs kicked off this week, and Boerne Champion got a head start and played on Monday.
Champion faced Cedar Park in Wimberley Monday morning and tamed the Timberwolves, 10-2.
The Chargers are 11-6 overall and face the winner of Burbank and MacArthur Thursday at 9 a.m. at Blossom Tennis Center.
Boerne High hosted its first-round match Tuesday afternoon against Leander Glenn at the Greyhound courts.
Before Tuesday’s match, the Greyhounds defeated Fredericksburg in a warm-up match, 13-6.
Boerne is 13-2 overall after its win against the Billies.
BHS and Champion are on pace to meet in the third round if they both win their first two playoff matches.
