Greyhounds hold Victoria West to 14 points in 24-14 victory, Geneva wins and Comfort drops district opener

Boerne High defeated Victoria West Friday at Boerne ISD Stadium. The Greyhounds won 24-14 and held the Warriors to one touchdown through the first three quarters.

The Greyhound defense also came up with two interceptions and a goal line stand in the second half after the Warriors had the ball at the BHS 1-yard line. Victoria West tried four straight runs plays and were stuffed for no gain on all four tries.

BHS is 6-1 overall and 3-0 in district. The Hounds are at Veterans Memorial Thursday on a short week.

Geneva School of Boerne

The Eagles were on the road in Austin to take on Hill Country Christian and won Friday's game 28-12.

Geneva was down 3-0 early after some miscues but rallied to score the next three touchdowns for the 21-3 lead and they cruised from there.

Geneva is 6-2 overall and 3-1 in district. The Eagles play at TMI on Saturday.

Comfort High

The Bobcats were on the road and fell to Rogers, 39-6.

Comfort took advantage of an Eagles fumble on their first drive and scored just a minute into the game but those would be the only points they would muster the rest of the night as Rogers tallied 39 unanswered.

The Bobcats are 4-3 overall and start district at 0-1. The Cats host Thrall Friday.

Champion 35, MacArthur 6

The Champion football team was in action Thursday and played MacArthur at Heroes Stadium.

The Chargers cruised to a 35-6 win and were up 35-0 by halftime.

Champion is 2-2 in district and 4-3 overall. They'll host Victoria East for homecoming next Friday.
