Crestmont Christian Prep’s High School sophomore Peyton Blyth, and the rest of the Warrior Cross Country team, have been tearing up the trail, most recently at the San Antonio Christian School Invitational Meet on Sept. 27. Blyth and the Warriors were last at the Steve Goleman Bandera Invitational on Sept. 6.

At Bandera, Blyth jumped out to an early lead and never looked back on a fast and flat course. He finished his 5k with a time of 16:30, good for a 5:19 second mile pace. His firstplace finish was more than 16 seconds ahead of second place.

On Sept. 27, Blyth was ready to attack a slower and more challenging course with a notorious hill at the finish line on a wonderfully cool morning with a smaller running field.

He quickly found himself in the leading group, and at one point, he even found himself out in front of a group of highly experienced runners, driving the race pace.

Blyth finished a brilliant race on a tough course with a final 5K time of 17:04.23, finishing in second place with a 5:29.7-mile pace.

Blyth and the rest of the Warrior runners were at to the Spartan Invitational in San Antonio on Oct. 11.
