It was a case of “Rogers, over and out” for the Comfort High football Friday night when the Bobcats kicked off district play at Rogers.
After Comfort scored early in the first quarter, the Eagles scored 39 straight points and defeated the Bobcats, 39-6.
Comfort drops to 4-3 overall and has lost three straight games. The Bobcats start district at 0-1 and host Thrall on Friday.
Rogers fumbled on their first possession, and Comfort took advantage of the short field and scored less than a minute into Friday’s contest.
Comfort QB Omar Rivera found Gabriel Gonzalez on a 12-yard touchdown pass, but the Bobcats missed the extra point and were up 6-0.
Rogers answered before the end of the quarter on a short run and pulled ahead 7-6 after they made their extra point and never trailed again.
The Eagles tallied three second-quarter touchdowns, all on runs by Tyson Sisneroz, who scored on runs of 78 yards, 3 yards and 2 yards for the 26-6 halftime lead.
In the third quarter, Sisneroz threw a 24-yard TD pass to Kash Stephens, and the Eagles were up 33-6.
Rogers added one more touchdown in the fourth quarter after Lucas Fuchs plunged in from the 1-yard line for the 39-6 lead with 11:11 left in the game.
