SAN ANTONIO — The water polo teams from Boerne Champion were defeated in the state semifinals Friday at Blossom at the UIL state tournament.
The Champion boys faced League City Clear Creek and were beaten, 17-12, while the Lady Chargers played against Clute Brazoswood and were eliminated 15-8.
Both Charger squads finish tied for third in the state and return to Boerne with bronze medals. This is the boys’ fourth straight appearance at state and the second straight year for the Lady Chargers to play at the state tourney.
The Champion boys end the season at 25-9 overall, and the Lady Chargers finish the year at 28-6-1.
