Boerne Champion hosted Wagner last Friday to close out the regular season and swept the Lady Thunderbirds in district volleyball.
The Lady Chargers won, 25-19, 25-7, 25- 16. Champion concludes the regular season at 26-7 overall and 11-5 in district.
Champion opens the playoffs Thursday against Cedar Park at Buda Johnson, 6:30 p.m. It’s a rematch from last year’s opening-round match for the Chargers.
In last Friday’s match, Taylor Fenton finished with 11 kills, Izze Fjord added 7 kills and 3 blocks, Bella Perez and Tessa McGowan both served up 3 aces, and Perez also tallied 16 digs, while Brady Cooksey added 26 assists.
