COMFORT — Comfort High and Geneva School of Boerne played a warm-up volleyball match in their final tune up on Tuesday before beginning postseason play Thursday.
Tuesday’s match in Comfort went five sets before the Deer claimed the victory, 25-15, 13-25, 25-19, 23-25, 15-8. Teams on the south end of the gym won all five sets for what it’s worth.
Comfort (27-14) opened the postseason Thursday against San Angelo Texas Leadership Charger Academy in Sonora, while Geneva (31-16) traveled to the Houston area to take on St. Thomas Episcopal Thursday afternoon at St. Thomas.
Tuesday’s win was a little payback for Comfort after they were swept by Geneva at a tournament on Aug. 30. The Eagles won that tourney game in two sets, 29-27, 25-15.
