Lady Hounds win second straight game

The Boerne High girls basketball team has won two games in a row, and the Lady Greyhounds have played well in those two victories and scored at least 70 points in both wins.

After defeating Holmes, 74-27, on Tuesday, BHS was home last Friday and beat Churchill, 70-34.

Boerne is 2-1 and hosted Warren on Tuesday. They are scheduled to play in the SAISD tourney this weekend, Thursday through Saturday and open with Incarnate Word on Thursday.

After taking a 13-6 lead in the first quarter, Boerne pulled away in the second after taking the stanza, 23-4, for the 36-10 halftime lead.

The teams traded baskets in the third, but the Lady Hounds won the quarter, 13-11, for the 49-21 advantage.

From there, Boerne closed it out with another strong quarter and tallied 21 in the fourth, compared to 13 for the Chargers.

Addison Palluch led the team with 17 points, Addison Saur scored 15 and JT Hernandez netted 10 as three BHS players finished with double figures.

Shaylee Allen and Hartlee Menn both tallied 7, Sutherlin Menn added 6, Melia Gonzalez had 4 and Ryan Cooper chipped in with 2.

Saur came up with 11 rebounds and 5 steals, while Gonzalez dished out 6 assists.
