Boerne Champion's record-setting cross country runner Elizabeth Leachman has committed to continue her running career and education at Stanford University her club team, Celerity Performance, announced.
Leachman is expected to sign at the next national signing day in the spring.
Even as a sophomore, Leachman expressed interest in running at Stanford when asked to name her top three schools.
The senior has battled health and injury issues over the last year and hasn't raced competitively since last November. The two-time 5A state cross country champion didn't compete in cross country this past fall and wasn't able to defend her title.
