Bobcat, Deer basketball teams in action

Comfort High basketball teams were on the court earlier this week as they continued non-district action.

The Deer were on the road for their first game away from Comfort, while the boys played in Comfort for their home opener.

There were mixed results for the CISD schools as the boys won, and the girls lost.

Varsity Boys

The Comfort boys picked up their first win of the year Tuesday at home after the Bobcats defeated Knippa, 61-46.

Comfort is 1-1 and was scheduled to play Burnet later in the week. They visit Fredericksburg on Monday, Nov. 24.

Varsity Girls

The Deer were on the road Monday and tried to plug Leakey, but the Lady Eagles kept the Comfort girls winless at 0-3.

Leakey won Monday’s contest, 62-32, and was up 11-9 at the end of the first quarter.

The Eagles won the second quarter, 16-0, for the 27-9 halftime lead.

Comfort played better in the second half and tallied 12 in the third and 11 in the fourth. Leakey netted 13 in the third and heated up in the fourth quarter and dropped in 22 points to outscore the Deer in the second half, 35-23.

The Deer played Hondo on Thursday and Pearsall on Friday.
