BHS boys take Titans, 71-42

The Boerne High boys basketball team hit double figures in all four quarters Monday on its way to defeating Southwest Legacy at Greyhound Gym.

BHS claimed the victory Monday night in its home opener, 71-42. The Greyhounds take a 1-1 record into the Cornerstone Tournament that started Thursday.

At the tourney, Boerne opened with a 68-60 loss to Devine.

In Monday’s win, the Greyhounds doubled up Southwest Legacy, 18-9, in the first quarter. BHS outscored the Titans 19-12 in the second stanza and took a 37-21 advantage into halftime.

Boerne won the second half as well after they outpaced Southwest Legacy 34-21 to secure the victory.

The Hounds took the third quarter, 18-10, and built their lead past 20 points at 55-31, going into the final quarter.

In the final stanza, Boerne closed it out by winning all four quarters and outscored the Titans, 16-11.
