Leachman commits to run at Stanford University
Elizabeth Leachman competes for the Chargers in 2024. The state and national champion recently announced her commitment to Stanford University to continue her academic and athletic career.

Boerne Champion’s record- setting runner Elizabeth Leachman has committed to continue her athletic and academic career at Stanford University, her club team, Celerity Performance, announced on social media Wednesday afternoon.

It is not known when Leachman will officially sign with the Cardinal, and it could be as late as May of 2026.

Even as a sophomore, Leachman, who has her own Wikipedia page, expressed interest in running at Stanford when asked to name her top three schools.

The senior has won several state and national titles during her high school career. She even competed at the Olympic Trials after she qualified for the trials by winning a race against college athletes.

Leachman has battled health and injury issues over the last year and hasn’t raced competitively since last November, although she has been spotted running around Champion High School as she works her way back to form.
