Boerne High was entered in the Cornerstone Warriors Classic boys basketball tournament last weekend and then hosted Marshall before the Thanksgiving break.
The Greyhounds (4-3 overall) welcome Medina Valley on Tuesday, Dec. 2, and then play in the CCCA Tournament in Corpus Christi next weekend as they continue their season.
Vs. Marshall
BHS won 67-58 and was up 15-8 after one quarter, but Marshall outscored the Greyhounds in the second, 19-11 and held a one-point lead at the break, 27-26.
The Hounds climbed back into it and took the third quarter, 20-15, thanks to 10 points from Julien Hartman and 7 points from Noa Sanchez, which allowed BHS to take a 46-42 lead into the final stanza.
Boerne never surrendered the lead in the fourth quarter and used a three-point play from Hartman with three minutes left to pull away from the Rams.
Hartman, who basically had his way in the paint, finished with 30 points and 13 rebounds for a double- double; Bo Pape added 17 points, Sanchez netted 10, Jay Aldridge and Parker Ballenger both scored 4 and Ty Reynolds chipped in with 2 points.
Cornerstone Tournament
The Greyhounds posted a 2-2 mark at the tourney after they opened with a 68-60 loss to Devine and a win against Eagle Pass, 83-40.
Boerne fell to Odessa by a point, 55-54, and then closed out the event with a win over Victoria East, 56-34.
