The Boerne High girls basketball team played in the SAISD tournament last weekend and also visited Burbank on Tuesday before the Thanksgiving break.
BHS placed third at the SAISD tourney and has historically done well there over the years.
At the tourney, the Lady Greyhounds won their first two games and defeated Incarnate Word, 87-24, and then edged Sam Houston, 55-52.
Boerne faced Warren in the tournament semifinals and fell to the Lady Warriors 62-46. The Lady Hounds had just hosted Warren a couple of days before and won the game, but the Warriors got some revenge and won that tourney game to advance to the finals.
The loss in the semifinals put Boerne in the third-place game where JT Hernandez nailed a 3-pointer at the buzzer to secure the 56-55 win for third place over Antonian.
Addison Saur and Sutherlin Menn were both named to the All-Tournament Team, according to head coach Amy Ruede.
Vs. Burbank
The Lady Hounds visited Burbank Tuesday afternoon and beat the Bulldogs, 68-48, to improve to 7-2 overall.
Boerne is off until Tuesday when they open district play at Wagner. After that, they will play in the Georgetown Tournament next weekend.
