Paul Ramey

Paul Bodenhamer Ramey — beloved husband, father, mentor, adventurer, and force of nature—passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025, at age 83. Born in Oxford, Mississippi to Paul A. and Myra Ramey, he spent a lifetime proving that the world is vast, beautiful, and meant to be explored with courage, curiosity, and humor.

He lived a life marked by dedication to and love for family and friends, commitment to his work and a passion for helping others. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Ramey, his daughter, Scarlett Ramey, and his son, Brendan Ramey. Paul called many places home as his path wound through Port Washington, New York; Kansas; San Antonio and Crockett, Texas; Anchorage and Fairbanks, Alaska; Seattle, Washington and finally Boerne, TX. Each city was another chapter, another quest, another chance to meet new people and create new stories. His final adventure concluded peacefully in Boerne, Texas, surrounded by his loving family.

A graduate of Kansas State and Trinity Universities, Paul forged a successful and diverse career defined not by titles, but by impact. He moved from hospital administration to pioneering shared services programs for rural hospitals, all the while pursuing bold entrepreneurial ventures and real estate investing. But his true legacy lies in what he helped build in others. Paul possessed a rare gift: he could see the greatness inside people before they saw it themselves. One of his deepest joys came from igniting the dreams of young entrepreneurs, especially during his years of mentoring at the Champion High School Entrepreneurship Incubator Program in Boerne. For Paul, sharing his passion and empowering others WAS the Adventure.

Paul loved fiercely and lived joyfully, encouraging those closest to him to be aware of how happy they were in the moment. He embraced family, friends, music, and the open water with equal passion. His beloved boat—fittingly named “ADVENTURE”— carried him through the San Juan Islands, where he played his mandolin, sang bluegrass, and filled the air with the kind of laughter and warmth that made every gathering feel legendary. “Adventure” was more than a vessel – it was a mantra for living life boldly, with curiosity and heart while never missing an opportunity to experience new horizons.

Paul’s legacy endures in the countless people whose lives he brightened with warmth, guidance and humor. Those who knew Paul will forever miss his passion and quick wit. Above all, they will miss his smile—brilliant, infectious, impossible to forget. It was a smile that could light a room, lift a spirit, or turn an ordinary moment into something extraordinary.

A Memorial service honoring Paul’s incredible life will be held at Ebensberger Fisher Funeral Home in Boerne, Texas, on December 5th from 4:00p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Additional services are being planned in Seattle, WA and Mississippi.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Champion High School Entrepreneurship Incubator Program, continuing Paul’s legacy of empowering young entrepreneurs at https://boerneisd.revtrak. net/district-wide/bisdbusiness- incubator/#/fo/ Incubator---In-Memoryof- Paul-Ramey83.
