Tessmer enters crowded Dist. 21 race

Heather Tessmer, an attorney and business owner, has announced her candidacy for the U.S. Congress in Texas’ 21st District, currently the only female in the Republican primary of 13 candidates.

Tessmer grew up in the Texas Hill Country after moving here as a child. Founder of Tessmer Law Firm, PLLC, she has spent more than two decades representing families across Central and South Texas.

Tessmer said her message is simple: “Texas deserves principled, proven leadership focused on results not rhetoric.”

After college and moving in support of her husband’s military career, she settled in Comal County for 15 years before moving to Kendall County in 2020.

“Texas needs leaders who understand hard work, accountability, and service,” Tessmer said. “I’ve spent my career standing up for families, running a business, and solving problems — not talking about them. I’m running to bring that same no-nonsense approach to Washington and to make sure Texas’ voice remains strong.”

After earning a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Angelo State University and a Juris Doctorate from St. Mary’s University School of Law, she built a respected legal career focused on family, probate, and estate law.

Tessmer is actively involved in the Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce and is currently president of the Kendall County Bar Association.
