THE BOOKWORM
The thought of getting on the interstate to head to San Antonio this time of year sends me into a slight panic, where I just want to build a blanket fort and hide, with several books and a cup of tea.
Also, I would much rather spend my money locally, if possible, to support local businesses.
One great place to shop and give back in the process is at The Bookshop Under the Windmill, right next to the library.
The Bookshop is run by volunteers from Friends of the Boerne Public Library. The organization is a very efficient operation, and everything they make comes back to the library.
The Friends group gives us so much support for many projects, including outreach, the Boerne Book Festival, young adult services and book purchasing. This year, we’re excited to receive funding from The Friends to purchase books for our mystery book section. We’ll be adding new titles and series to the mystery shelves very soon.
The Bookshop Under the Windmill is open Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and features books, DVDs, puzzles and more, available at great prices. They also sell gift certificates at the shop.
Please stop by and visit The Bookshop soon.
