William Charles Hettie Jr., 75, beloved husband, father and respected professional, passed away on Nov. 30, 2025, in Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas, surrounded by his family.

William was born on March 30, 1950, in Utica, New York. He was a devoted husband of 55 years to Shelley Hettie and the proud father of Richard (Traci), Chris (Jodi), Kenneth, Catherine (Jim) Sellner, and Kimberly (Lee) Slater, each of whom he loved deeply and supported wholeheartedly. He was a proud grandfather of Scott Hettie, Brett Hettie, Beckett Hettie, Grayson Hettie, Holiday Hettie, Caroline Sellner, Penelope Sellner, Matthew Sellner, Drew Slater, Claire Slater, and Grace Slater. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rose and William Hettie, Sr. and sister, Beverly Pearson.

He graduated from Bentley College wherein he earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting. William built a distinguished career ultimately retiring as a partner at Ernst & Young, LLP. Known for his sharp intellect, professionalism, and steady leadership, he earned deep respect from colleagues and clients alike during his long and accomplished career as a Certified Public Accountant.

Outside of work, William found immense fulfillment in his passions. He relished weightlifting, trading, and writing. Additionally, he took great pride in working on cars and woodworking, activities that allowed him to create, build, and solve problems with his hands—a source of profound joy for him.

William will be remembered for his kindness, his wisdom, and the example he set through a lifetime of hard work, perseverance, and devotion to family. William lived a life marked by integrity, dedication, and quiet strength. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew him and the family he cherished above all else.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

A private burial will be held at Boerne Cemetery.
