SAN ANTONIO - Richmond Randle's five-star running back Landen Williams-Callis ran for five touchdowns and 201 yards to help the Lions defeat Boerne High Friday in the Alamodome in the Region IV-5A D2 finals, 40-16.

It was 9-9 in the second quarter but Williams-Callis took over from there and scored two TDs in the final 4:25 of the second quarter to give Randle the 23-9 lead at the break.

Williams-Callis tacked on two more touchdowns in the third quarter to blow it open at 37-9 with 4:48 left in the third. Williams-Callis left the game at the end of the third quarter but the Lions put together a drive of nearly 10 minutes (9:42 to be exact) to kill clock before settling for a 32-yard field goal to make it 40-9.

The Greyhounds went down swinging and scored late in the fourth quarter after Eli Nikolas hauled in a short pass from Grant Sweeney for the final of 40-16 after the Diego Jimenez extra point.

Sweeney, who was under pressure all night, found Zach Freasier in the first quarter to account for Boerne's other touchdown.

The Greyhounds also had a safety in the game against Randle that only punted 10 times this year. On the safety, Boerne's Hadden Silva blocked the punt and it rolled out of the back of the end zone before Ben Bays could recover it.
