Laredo Border Olympics

The Boerne Champion boys played in the Border Olympics tournament in Laredo last weekend.

Champion won its first three games to advance to the tourney semifinals and then dropped that game and the third-place contest to finish fourth.

The Charg e r s didn’t have anybody named to the all-tournament team because only the top three teams are able to get players selected.

Champion opened with wins over McAllen Rowe, 53-25, Laredo Martin 54-26 and Laredo United, 64- 41. Those three wins advance the Chargers to the tourney semifinals where they were edged by Laredo Nixon, 51-50 to move to the thirdplace game. In that third-place game, Champion fell to Laredo United South, 38-30.
