Boerne ISD had a total of 14 volleyball players – eight from Boerne Champion and six from Boerne High – selected to one of the 26-5A teams as voted upon by the district coaches.
Champion sophomore Brady Cooksey was named the 26-5A Most Valuable Setter, while junior Brielle Boothe, senior Cassidy Breuer and senior Taylor Fenton all landed on the first team.
Charger freshman Finley Weikle and sophomore Hannah Perez made the second team, while junior Sydney Hass and sophomore Lileyan Rounds were named honorable mention.
Boerne High senior Haley Wheeler and junior Ava Seamans landed on the second team, while senior Paige Stegall, junior Isabella Pettet, junior Lauren Magnus and freshman Cameron Keller were voted to the honorable mention team.
The two BISD teams played twice this year and split their two matches after each won on the other’s home court. BHS won at Charger Gym on Sept. 12 in four games, and then Champion split their series with a five-set victory at Greyhound Gym on Oct. 14.
Boerne Champion finished the 2025 season at 26-8 overall and went 11-5 in district to take third, while Boerne High wrapped up the year at 19-17 overall and finished 3-13 in district.
The Lady Chargers made the playoffs and drew eventual state champion Cedar Park in the first round. Champion lost in four but took a set off the Lady Timberwolves team, which only dropped two entire sets during its six-match playoff run.
