Boerne High picked up its second straight district win in girls basketball after the Lady Greyhounds defeated visiting Kerrville Tivy Friday night at home.
BHS outscored the Lady Antlers in the first quarter by six points and ended up winning the game by six points as they traded baskets the rest of the way.
The Lady Hounds claimed the 46-40 victory and is 2-1 in district and 11-5 overall. Boerne hosted Smithson Valley Tuesday and then visits Champion on Friday in a battle of cross-town rivals.
In last Friday’s game, Boerne was up 11-5 in the first quarter against Kerrville Tivy and that ended up being the difference in the game.
Over the next three quarters, Boerne scored 35 points with 10, 12 and 13 points, while the Lady Antlers tallied 35 points with 13, 10 and 12 points.
Tivy did outscored Boerne in the second 13-10 and the Lady Greyhounds were only up by three points at the break, 21-18, but BHS won the second half, 25-22 to get it back to six points.
Addison Saur paced Boerne with 14 points, Addison Palluch and Hartlee Menn finished with 9 points each, Sutherlin Menn scored 7, Melia Gonzalez added 5 and Addison Neal hit for 2 points.
Hartlee Menn snagged 9 rebounds, Sutherlin Menn had 7 boards, while Gonzalez and Neal came up with 4 steals each and Palluch dished out 2 assists.
