Jo Ann was born on Sept. 18, 1934, in Sweetwater, Texas, to Randolph and Lydia Rayburn. She attended Edgewood High School in San Antonio, where she proudly served as a cheerleader. It was during those years that she met the love of her life, Clifford Kehler. The two were married on Feb. 20, 1954, in San Antonio, beginning a devoted partnership that spanned decades.

Following high school, Jo Ann began her career at the National Bank of Commerce in San Antonio. Together, she and Clifford later founded Kehler Enterprises, developing and managing several properties, including Westgate Apartments, Northgate Apartments, and La Chateau Apartments in San Antonio.

In 1972, Jo Ann and Clifford moved their family to Boerne, where their entrepreneurial spirit continued to flourish. They opened and operated several beloved local businesses, including the Dutch Boy Restaurant, convenience store, Dutch Boy Club, Key to the Hills Motel, and Water Street Car Wash. Jo Ann took great pride in contributing to the growth and character of the Boerne community.

Jo Ann was an active and cherished member of The Center of Boerne, where she found great joy in attending dances, painting, jewelry making, flower-making classes, playing bingo, volunteering in the thrift store, and sharing daily lunches with her friends. Her warmth, creativity, and generous spirit were evident to all who knew her.

She is survived by her sister, Virginia Wurz; her children, Linda McBee, Cheryl Sahm, and Brandon Kehler; her grandchildren, Kristoffer, David, Leslie, Corbin, Courtny, and Cade; and her great-granddaughter, Penelope, who brought her immense joy.

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Randolph and Lydia Rayburn; her brother, Bobby Rayburn; and her sister, Linda Rayburn.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Steve Hill for his kindness, compassion, and loving care, which brought comfort and dignity to Jo Ann in her later years. They also wish to thank Kenny Sides, Executive Director of Taking It To The Streets, for serving as the eulogist, and Paula Hayward, owner of Bear Moon Bakery, for providing such a beautiful space to celebrate Jo Ann’s life.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Jo Ann’s honor to:

• The Center in Boerne, which provides Meals on Wheels to homebound seniors.

• Taking It To The Streets, supporting hot meals and clothing for the homeless in downtown San Antonio.

• The Alzheimer’s Association, supporting research and services for those affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia.

Jo Ann will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her generous heart, her creativity, and her lifelong dedication to serving others. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched and the community she helped build.
