Champion, BHS water polo players named all-district

The water polo teams from Boerne Champion and Boerne High both had players named All-District this year.

Champion dominated the all-district selections and had eight boys and eight girls, along with the coach honored, while the Greyhounds had one player selected on the boys and girls side.

Boys

For the Chargers, junior Julius Hoxhaj was named the 27-6A MVP, junior Jackson Hankins was named the Goalie of the Year, senior Will Harrison was named the Offensive Player of the Year, senior Aaron Mendoza was named the Defensive Player of the Year, while Coach Scott Slay was named the Coach of the Year.

Junior EJ Altermatt was a first-team selection, junior Grant Perkins was named to the second team and junior Baylor Slay was a second-team pick, while sophomore Landon Muenchow was named honorable mention.

For the Greyhounds, senior Zayden Arnold was an honorable mention selection.

Girls

For the Lady Chargers, senior Cayden Van Dyne was named the Goalie of the Year and received the only superlative award for Champion this year.

Junior Bennett Rice and senior Cora Skoog were firstteam picks for the Chargers.

Senior Addison Homann and junior Breanna Hempton were both named to the second team, while senior Adrianna Swanson, senior Rebecca Conrad and junior Meghan Jackson landed on the honorable mention team.

For the Lady Greyhounds, junior Makenna Henson was named honorable mention.
