The Boerne Champion girls basketball team was on the road Tuesday to face the No. 1 5A team in the state when they visited the Lady Thunderbirds.
Wagner lit up the scoreboard and defeated the Lady Chargers, 87-25.
Champion slips to 2-5 in district and has dropped four straight in 26-5A after starting league play at 2-1. The Chargers (10-16 overall) closed out the first round of district play Friday at home against Kerrville Tivy.
Champion tips off the second round of 26-5A action Tuesday at home against Veterans Memorial, a team they defeated in the first round, 50-34.
