Geneva School of Boerne hosted Corpus Christi John Paul II on Tuesday and swept the Centurions in varsity action after the boys and girls both won.
The Eagles hit the road Friday to take on Corpus Christi Incarnate Word in doubleheader action.
Varsity Boys
Tucker Hardin led the Eagles in scoring Tuesday with 14 points and helped the Eagles pick up a home victory over CC John Paul II. Geneva is 2-7 in district and 9-15 overall.
The Eagles held a narrow 7–4 lead at the end of the first quarter before extending the advantage to 19–16 at halftime. A dominant third quarter proved to be the difference after the Eagles outscored the Guardians 20–0 to take a commanding 23-point lead heading into the fourth.
The Eagles continued to control the game and secured a 58–26 win.
Noah Brunsvold added 13 points and Caleb Quitadamo finished with 10.
Varsity Girls
The Geneva girls won their fourth district game in a row after they defeated Corpus Christi John Paul II Tuesday at home, 55-41. The Eagles improved to 6-3 in district (10-17 overall).
Geneva was in double figures for all four quarters and tallied 19, 11, 11 and 14 points in the game, while the Centurions scored 12, 14, 6 and 9. Geneva was up at halftime 30-26 and then pulled away in the second half by outscoring their opponents, 25-15.
Three Eagles finished in double digits after Sopris Oglesby tallied 13, Reese Smith scored 12 and Lexi Oglesby added 11. Payton Boles almost made it four players to reach the milestone after she netted 9, while Carlyle Harden chipped in with 7 and Amelia Morgan had 3.
Smith came up with 5 steals and Sopris Oglesby grabbed 5 rebounds and dished out an assist.
