CELEBRATING THE ARTS

The Cibolo Creek Quilters Guild will host Deborah Bradley, managing director of The Texas Quilt Museum of LaGrange, Texas, at 7 p.m. Feb. 12 in the Patrick Heath Public Library community room. The event is free and open to the public. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for fellowship, with the program beginning at 7 p.m.

Bradley will speak on “Legacy of Texas Quilts.” Since joining the Texas Quilt Museum in 2022, she has launched programs for children and new quilters, and created events that celebrate and connect communities across Texas.

She is passionate about sharing the rich history of quilting, as well as the vibrant story of the Texas Quilt Museum, a 501(c) (3) not-for-profit facility housed in two historic 1890s buildings that provide a fine showcase for both antique and contemporary quilt art featuring high ceilings, brick walls and original hardwood floors.

Home for the new museum is the picturesque Central Texas town of LaGrange. LaGrange is located on the winding Colorado River between two major highways, within driving distance of Austin, Houston and San Antonio.

Simply put, the museum is a pleasant Sunday drive from here.
