Greyhound soccer teams fall to Pieper

Boerne High challenged Pieper Friday night in district soccer and the Warriors were able to sweep the Greyhounds in both varsity matches by identical scores of 5-1.

BHS closed out the first round of district Tuesday against New Braunfels and opens the second round Friday vs. Wagner.

Varsity Boys

Pieper did what no other soccer team has been able to do so far in 26-5A and that is to defeat the Greyhounds in a district match.

The Warriors took a 4-0 lead by halftime and went on to defeat the BHS boys 5-1.

Boerne is 7-2-1 overall and 5-1-1 in district. They visited New Braunfels Tuesday and are at Wagner on Friday.

Ramzy Handal tallied Boerne’s only goal of the night last Friday, unassisted.

Varsity Girls

The Pieper girls defeated Boerne High 5-1 Friday at Warriors Stadium and dropped the Lady Greyhounds to 4-3 in district and 8-5 overall.

Boerne hosted New Braunfels Tuesday to close out the first round and kick off second-round 26-5A action Friday at home against Wagner.

Eliana Bove finished with Boerne’s lone goal in last Friday’s match, and it was unassisted.
