Boerne Champion tangled with Tivy Tuesday night in district soccer matches, and it was a good night for the Chargers after they defeated the Antlers.
Varsity Girls
After a mercy-rule win last Friday vs. Wagner (8-0), the Lady Chargers almost did it again Tuesday against the Lady Antlers.
Champion topped Tivy, 7-0, and closed out the first round at 3-4-1 in district (7-4-1 overall).
Daylynn Carpenter knocked in 2 goals, while Maggie Hall, Lily Alejo, Sarah Blakeney, Claire McClain and Jessica McKenzie all tallied single goals for the Chargers.
Alejo finished with 2 assists, while Macy O’Dell, Hall, Blakeney and Bailey Defries all recorded 1 assist.
The girls hosted Veterans Memorial Friday and visit Smithson Valley on Tuesday.
Varsity Boys
The Chargers prevailed in a tight match, 4-3.
Kefe Omokuru has been playing well and finished with his second straight hat trick after scoring 3 goals, while Ethan Souza added a goal.
Christian Sommer, Grayson Moran and Will Hankins recorded 1 assist each.
Tuesday’s win closes out the first round of district for the Chargers at 4-4 (8-6 overall). They were at Veterans Memorial Friday and host Smithson Valley Tuesday.
