Boerne High locked horns with the Unicorn soccer squads on Tuesday and one of the matches ended in a tie, while New Braunfels took the other match to close out the first round.
Varsity Girls
BHS trailed 2-0 but tallied two late goals to tie it up. The Hounds had a chance at another, but an apparent foul in the box wasn’t called, and Tuesday’s match at Boerne ISD Stadium ended in a 2-2 draw.
Eliana Bove scored on the assist from Bella Pettet and Pettett also tallied a goal.
The Lady Hounds are 4-3-1 in district (8-5-1 overall) and sit in fifth place behind Alamo Heights (4-2-2) and ahead of the Chargers (3-4-1) through the first round.
They hosted Wagner and will visit Tivy on Tuesday.
Varsity Boys
The Hounds dropped their second match in a row to close out the first round of district action.
New Braunfels defeated BHS, 5-2, to leave Boerne at 5-2-1 at the end of the first round. BHS is sitting in third place going into the second round.
The Hounds (7-3-1 overall) started the second round Friday at Wagner and will host Tivy on Tuesday.
Bruno Bayardo scored on the assist from Shae Gonzales and Gonzales also added a goal.
