The Boerne ISD softball teams opened their 2026 seasons on Tuesday and both the Greyhounds and Chargers played district games on the road.
Boerne High
Boerne High was at Wagner and run ruled the Lady Thunderbirds, 16-1, to start the year at 1-0.
The Lady Hounds tallied 5 runs in the first and 7 in the second for the 12-1 lead. They added 2 more runs in the third and fourth frames to close it out.
BHS is entered in the Uvalde tournament this weekend and hosts Kerrville Tivy on Tuesday.
Boerne Champion
The Chargers visited Veterans Memorial Tuesday and dropped a close one to the Lady Patriots, 5-2, to start the year at 0-1.
Champion struck for the early lead with a run in the top of the first, but Veterans Memorial tied it in the second.
The Chargers pulled ahead again in the fourth with a run for the 2-1 lead, but the Patriots fired back with 4 runs in the bottom of the fourth thanks to a grand slam for the 5-2 lead and held on from there.
Champion played Harper at home on Friday and hosts Smithson Valley on Tuesday.
