LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

Make time to vote

Editor, Primary election time is upon us. We are seeing the candidates’ signs all around our community and constant ads on our television screens. We begin to ignore the noise and think to ourselves: “Oh, It’s only a primary and not important.” However, that way of thinking is mistaken. As citizens of a free country, we should take advantage of the opportunity to choose who will represent us in all facets of government.

Take the time to find out about the candidates who are running for office in this mid-term year election. Take the time to go to the polls and vote, whether it be during the early election voting days or on Election Day.

As you cast your ballot, you may see candidates who are running for a race unopposed and feel “Well they don’t need my vote,” and skip on to the next races with multiple candidates running. Please think again.

By voting for candidates in every race, you are telling the candidate and public that you support and approve of a candidate’s platform or accomplishments while holding office.

Early voting in Kendall County begins Tuesday, Feb. 17continuues through Friday, Febr. 27 at the Kendall County Courthouse Annex, 211 Fawn Valley Drive in Boerne. Election Day is Tuesday, March 3.

And most importantly, don’t forget to bring your photo ID.
