The Geneva girls soccer team finished second in the state after they were defeated by McKinney Christian Academy in the TAPPS DIII state finals Wednesday in Round Rock.
The Mustangs won Wednesday’s match 4-1 and never trailed in the contest.
McKinney Christian was up 1-0 but the Eagles tied it after Peyton Eiland answered with a goal to knot it at 1-1. The Mustangs knocked in two more goals before the half to hold a 3-1 lead and added one more goal in the second half to secure the win.
Geneva finishes the year at 16-6-4 and beat district foe Schertz John Paul II in the state semis on Tuesday, 2-0.

The British International School (Houston) beat the Geneva boys soccer team Thursday in Round Rock in the TAPPS state semis, 3-1.
The Geneva boys return to Boerne with bronze medals to help the school cap the soccer season with state silver & bronze medals after the girls finished second at state.
