Both Champion varsity soccer teams played Pieper on Tuesday and took losses but remained in the hunt for playoff spots.
The Chargers had three games left heading into Friday’s matches with New Braunfels and have some work to do if they are going to make the playoffs.
Varsity Girls
After Tuesday’s 4-0 loss at Charger Field to Pieper, the Champion girls are 6-6-1 in district (10-6-1 overall). They are chasing Boerne High (7-52) and Alamo Heights (6-4-3) in the 26-5A standings.
A win is worth 3 points and a tie is worth 1 point.
The Chargers were at New Braunfels Friday, will host Wagner on Tuesday and close out the regular season at Kerrville Tivy.
Varsity Boys Pieper won Tuesday’s match, 4-1, to drop the Chargers to 7-6 in 26-5A (11-8 overall).
Champion hosted New Braunfels Friday. They are at Wagner Tuesday and welcome Kerrville Tivy on Friday to close out the regular season.
Champion is chasing Boerne High (7-5-2) and trying to hold off Smithson Valley (6-5-2) and Kerrville Tivy (5-6-2).
Bryce Knell recorded Champion’s only goal Tuesday against the Warriors.
