Lady Greyhounds run rule Wagner, 16-1

Boerne High only needed two innings to account for 16 runs during Friday’s softball game against Wagner to kick off the second round of district action.

After the Thunderbirds scored a run in the top of the first inning, the Lady Greyhounds answered with 4 runs in the bottom of the inning and then erupted for 12 runs in the second for the 16-1 lead.

When Wagner didn’t score in the third frame, the game ended to give BHS the 16-1 victory.

Boerne (4-5 in district and 13-5 overall) visited Kerrville Tivy Tuesday and hosts Veterans Memorial Friday.

The Hounds finished with 9 hits, including five doubles. Tessa Murphy scored 3 runs, Brooklynn Thomason doubled, picked up 2 RBI and scored 2 runs, Riley Partin hit 2 singles, drove in 2 runs and scored 3 times, Addison Reidy smacked 2 doubles, collected 3 RBI and scored 3 runs, Kenley Thomason singled, brought in 3 runs and scored a run, Maddie Vasquez singled, had 2 RBI and scored a run, while Micah Bellamy hit 2 doubles.

Bellamy only needed 55 pitches to record the win in three innings. She struck out 5, gave up 3 hits, no earned runs and no walks.
