Five Boerne ISD campuses earn Holdsworth invite

BOERNE — Five Boerne Independent School District campuses were selected to participate in the Holdsworth Center for Public Education’s Campus Leadership Program.

Boerne ISD’s Boerne High School, Cibolo Creek Elementary School, Curington Elementary School, Van Raub Elementary School and Viola Wilson Elementary School are five of the 72 campuses statewide invited to be part of the incoming cohort.

The Holdsworth Center is a Texas- based nonprofit organization dedicated to building stronger leaders in Texas public schools.

The two-year learning program invites principals and their administrative teams to participate in world-class workshops and learning that drive positive change for students.

Sharon Foley, Managing Director of Campus Programs for The Holdsworth Center, shared, “We are incredibly proud of the campuses selected for this rigorous learning journey. Their commitment to students, their communities, and to continuous improvement represents the heart of what great public schools are all about. These leaders are stepping forward to create better outcomes for kids, and we are honored to support them in the work they’re doing.”

Dr. Kristin Craft, Boerne ISD superintendent, is an alum of The Holdsworth Center’s Superintendent Leadership Program. During her 18-month participation in that program, Dr. Craft had the opportunity to bring members of the board of trustees and the district’s senior leadership team to training with her.

“Holdsworth challenges public school leaders to think about their work differently,” Craaft said. “By inviting experts in to help leadership teams work more effectively together, Holdsworth helps those teams engage in a culture of positive, forward momentum. We’re delighted that all of our applicants were selected to participate in the Campus Leadership Program. We can’t wait to see what they accomplish.”

Boerne ISD is one of only 31 districts in the state to achieve 6 straight A-ratings from the Texas Education Agency.
