Boerne Champion participated at the Judson ISD Candy Tanner Relays held before spring break and the Charger varsity teams captured the top two spots after the Lady Chargers won the event with 145 points and the boys were second at 122.
Champion raced again on March 19 at the Northeast ISD Meet at Heroes.
RESULTS (Top 6) Varsity Boys
Noah Moreno placed 2nd in the 3200 (10:31) and Adan Valdez came in 3rd (10:34), while Sebastian Carvallo was 4th in the 800 (2:02) and Hector Canales placed 6th (2:06).
Brogan Dempsey won the 100 (11.45), while Carvallo (4:41), Moreno (4:43) and Abhiram Bhogireddy (4:44) went 4-5-6 in the 1600 runs.
Champion’s 4x100 relay of Hayden Fridley, Zachary Garcia, Will Burgess and Brogan Dempsey took 3rd (43.59), the 4x200 Jaxon Harbuck, Ryan McDonald, Fridley and Dempsey finished 2nd (1:29) and the 4x400 of Harbuck, Zach Smith, Hector Canales and Fridley captured 1st (3:30) for 20 points.
Blake Stehling placed 3rd in the discus (151-0), Ryder Flugence came in 5th in the long jump (206), Ace Giffin took 2nd in the pole vault (11-6) and Finn Poole was 3rd (11-0).
Stehling also scored points in the shot put after he was 3rd (47-3) and Ryder Flugence won the triple jump (44-8).
Varsity Girls
Rebecca Bezerra won the 3200 (11:42), while Emma Radtke (2:28) and Ellis Conroy (2:29) were
2nd and 3rd in the 800, while Luciana Zazueta Ibarra came in 6th (2:32).
Bezerra also captured
1st in the 1600 (5:21), Radtke was 2nd (5:22) and Zazueta Ibarra was
3rd (5:30).
Addison Davis placed
3rd in the 100 hurdles
(17.41) and came in 3rd in the 300 hurdles (48.96), while Maelee Mares finished 5th in the 300 hurdles (51.06).
Juliana Syroney won the 100 dash (12.47), while Mikayla Green
(1:01.54) and Michelle Cerna (101.55) went 4 and
5 in the 400 dash.
Syroney, Green, Kinsley Graff and Cerna teamed up to win the
4x200 (1:44) and Addison Davis, Cerna, Green and Ellis Conroy teamed up for 2nd in the 4x400
(4:16).
Lorena Barreiro-Bidot finished 3rd in the discus
(102-10), Maelee Mares won the high jump (5-0) and Jenna Koepke was
3rd (4-10), while Tina Pham finished 4th in the pole vault (7-0).
