Before spring break, the Boerne High track and field team competed at the Alamo Heights Mules Relays. It was a strong showing by the Greyhounds after the girls were second with 133 points and the boys were fourth with 90 points.
The Hounds were scheduled to race at the Clemens Relays on March 26.
RESULTS (Top 6) Varsity Boys
Ronnie Brooks placed 5th in the 100 (11.88) and Bryalen Thomason was 4th in the 200 (23.39), while Aaron Garcia (4:31) and Brayden Scott (4:33) went 2-3 in the 1600.
Dominic Sanchez finished 6th in the 300 hurdles (43.08), while the 4x200 finished 3rd (1:32) and the 4x400 came in 6th in (3:39) and the distance medley relay won the event (10:45).
Grant Sweeney placed 5th in the high jump (5-8), while Noah Blomqvist finished 3rd in the discus (139-1) and Wyatt Burkholder (123-2) and Eyan Smith (121-5) went 5-6.
The Greyhounds went 1-2-3 in the shot put after Blomqvist (51-6), Cash Gatlin (49-11) and Ryan Naylor (48-2.5) took the top three spots.
Varsity Girls
Bella Pettet took 2nd in the 100 (12.81) and Victoria Varga was 6th (13.58), Bethanee Lozano placed 3rd in the 200 (27.14) and Maddie Freeman was 6th (27.76).
Presley Merkens won the 400 (58.71) and Sutton Amerman came in 2nd (59.08), while Merkens (2:16.07) and Amerman (2:16.20) also went 1-2 in the 800.
Kelsey Farar finished 5th in the 1600 (5:28) and was 3rd in the 3200 (12:28), while Ansley Schiller took. 4th in the 3200 (12:42).
Prisca Igbo placed 2nd in the 100 hurdles (16.27) and Averley Bruce was 4th (16.70), while Bruce came in 3rd in the 300 hurdles (48.89), Igbo was 5th (49.34) and Brei Johnson finished 6th (49.59).
Boerne’s 4x100 relay was 3rd (50.03), placed 5th in the 4x200 (1:48) and took 2nd in the 4x400 (4:04).
Mallory Miles placed 5th in the high jump (5-0), Bella Pettet won the long jump (18-8) and Mckeehan Smith finished 4th in the pole vault.
