The Geneva School of Boerne baseball team scored seven runs in an inning twice on Tuesday and went on to defeat visiting Corpus Christi John Paul II.
The Eagles tallied seven runs in the third and did it again in the fifth to kick in the mercy rule and defeat the Centurions, 16-6.
It’s Geneva first district win and improved the Eagles to 1-2 in league play (9-7 overall). They are off until Monday when the Eagles host NB Christian.
Geneva tallied 16 hits in the game and Harris Priesmeyer finished with a triple, a single, 2 RBI and a run scored, Eli Arnold doubled and banged out 2 singles, pushed in 2 runs and scored twice, Gray Bruner doubled and smacked 2 singles, had an RBI and scored 3 runs, while Robert Jons knocked out 3 singles, collected 4 RBI and scored 2 runs.
Chase Doran singled and drove in a run, Levi McPherson walked twice and scored 3 runs, Bryce Hanover hit 2 singles, picked up an RBI and scored a run, TJ Cross singled, knocked in 2 runs and scored once, Josh Patteson picked up an RBI and Cole Davis singled, had an RBI and scored 2 runs.
Hanover went 3 innings on the hill and picked up the win after he scattered 4 hits, walked 3 and struck out 4, while McPherson gave up 4 hits, 1 run, 1 walk and sat down a batter.
