After dropping their first game to Boerne High on Tuesday, the Chargers went to Greyhound Field on Friday and recorded the 12-6 win to split their series with BHS.

The offensive fireworks started early for Champion after Brody Bendele homered in the top of the second inning for the lead that the Chargers never relinquished.

Champion was on the verge of a run-rule win after they led 11-2 going into the bottom of the fifth but the Greyhounds took away that possibility with four runs in its last three at bats.

The Chargers continue district play with two games this week against Pieper on Tuesday and Thursday, while Boerne faces Alamo Heights on Tuesday and Thursday.
